Joseph Bernard Stone March 22 1928 - April 30 2024 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph at his residence, the Richmond Villa on April 30 2024. Born in St. Peter’s, a son of Robert and Tina (Martell) Stone, Joseph worked in Halifax and Toronto as a young man. He married Monica Richard, his wife of 71 years in August of 1952. They began their married life in Toronto and started their family, returning to River Bourgeois in 1962. Joseph and his brother, Davey, operated Stone Brothers service station in Port Hawkesbury for over 30 years, retiring in 1991 - with a lifetime of stories. Joseph will be remembered for his quick sense of humor, love for his family, and compassion for anyone who needed a helping hand. He passed down his love of animals, raising many pets and wildlife in his backyard. Joseph could often be found in his shed engineering a way to fix or solve anything in need of repair. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Monica, Richmond Villa, son Jimmy (Linda), Coldbrook, son Joey (Joan), River Bourgeios, grandson Daniel (Jennifer Campell), Timberlea, granddaughter Ellen, Dartmouth, and great grandchildren William and Sadie, Timberlea, sister Donna Cotie, Richmond Villa, and lifelong friend Jack Sutherland, Lynche River. Besides his parents, Joseph was predeceased by brothers Bobby, Danny (Charlotte), Johnny (Beatrice), Davey (Myrna), sister Margaret (Harry) Cotton, and brother-in-law Alfred Cotie. A special thank you to Dr. Collins and staff of the Richmond Villa for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. As requested, there will be no visitation or funeral. Burial at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd. in Arichat.
