BULLEN, Hubert Isaac, Arichat
At the age of 86, from Arichat, NS, Hubert Isaac Bullen passed away on May 15, 2024 at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish surrounded by the LOVE of his family.
Born on December 26, 1937 in Harbour Breton, Newfoundland, he was the son of the late Theodore and Rebecca (Dowdy) Bullen.
Hubert left Newfoundland at the very young age and started his seafarer days in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
During one of those trips, Hubert’s life was about to change. The boat he was on shipwrecked on a little island called Isle Madame. During his stay, he ended up at a little side restaurant called Louisiana Fried Chicken. This little young lady was putting coins in a jukebox. She dropped a coin, Hubert being the gentlemen he was, picked it up, so began the life journey Theresa and he would share. He loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren and his great granddaughter, his community, his wrestling, his bingo and his walks. A kind, caring and respectful man were some of his many traits.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife Theresa; brothers, George, John, Theodore, and Sidney; sisters, Edna and Eileen; his in laws, Mary, Lillian, Francis, Elzear, Etienne, James, Jackie and Hubert Honeycotte.
Hubert leaves to mourn his passing by daughters, Lisa (Ivan), Jackie (Daren), and Laurie (Kirk); sons, Hubert Jr. (Vickey), John, Robert and Jamie Ryan (Meranda); grandchildren, Chad (Samantha), Kyle, Gabrielle (Kourtney), Sam, Jake, Claudelle (Louis), and Ethan; his precious great-granddaughter Madison; brother Merrill Bullen and sister Jane Winsor. He is also survived by his in-laws, Edith, Leah, Willard, Francis, Catherine, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He spent countless time checking in with his children, making sure everyone was ok.
We would like to thank Meranda and Ryan for the great care Dad was provided. Would always check on him, make his meals and everything else that needed doing. We appreciate you both. Dad we are so sure that the minute your soul reached the gate, that Mom was waiting there for you. Your love story will continue in Heaven.
Lastly, we would like to thank you Dad, for being the man that you were. The amazing husband to Mom, a great Dad to all of us and an awesome Pépé to our babies.
May your eternal voyage be calm, your sails catch good winds, and may you be in peace and pain free. You deserve the best.
We will LOVE you forever.
