Obituary of Abraham Berthier

BERTHIER, Abraham (Abe) - 75, Resident of St. Anne's Community and Nursing Care Centre, and formerly of Petit de Grat, NS. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Abraham on June 13, 2012 at St. Martha's Regional Hospital. Born in L'Ardoise, he was the son of the late Tranquil and Mary Catherine (Landry) Berthier. Abraham worked for the Department of Lands and Forests for 37 years. He will be fondly remembered for his love of the outdoors and spending time at the cabin, for his love of music and watching his granddaughter step-dance. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 49 years, Muriel (Samson); son Lester (Stephanie) of Halifax; son Jerome (Alvina) of Arichat; daughter Lisa of Yellowknife; daughter Jacinta (Bill) of Ottawa; precious granddaughter Chantal (Andrew) of Arichat; brother Alex (Viny); sisters Annie (Cyril), Margaret (Bob), and Theresa (Darryl); and many nieces, nephews and great friends. He was predeceased by his sister Gladys. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9 PM on Sunday, June 17, and again from 9:30AM to 10:30AM on Monday June 18 at the C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat, NS. A Funeral mass will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 11 AM on June 18, in Petit de Grat. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Anne's Community and Nursing Care Centre, Parkinson's Society, Maritime Region, Star of the Sea Cemetery Fund, or to a charity of your choice.
