Obituary of Rudolph Ernest Landry

Landry, Rudolph Ernest -72 Louisdale, better known as Silver Fox, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2008 at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston, with his loving family by his side. Born in Louisdale, he was a son of the late Ernest and Mary Stella (Marchand) Landry. Rudolph loved life to the fullest. He enjoyed dancing and loved to make people laugh with his humorous character that he had. He also loved working outdoors on his houseboat named Island in the Stream. He was a member of the Iron Workers and Sheet Metal Unions and worked in this capacity for many years in Toronto. Rudolph was a great father and grandfather and will be sadly missed by the family that he leaves behind to mourn his loss. He is survived by his sons, Allister (Valerie) Louisdale, Darryl, Halifax; special granddaughter Briana Landry, Halifax; brothers, Conrad, companion Marlene MacPhee, Arthur and James all of Louisdale; sister Barbara Ann Sampson, Louisdale and his special friend, Barbara Tighe, New Waterford. He was predeceased by his brothers Ernest (Toggie), Edward (Ned) and Nerie. Visitation will take place in the Glen Sampson Memorial Room in Louisdale on Tuesday April 22, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Rudolph will be held Wednesday morning at 11a.m. in St. Louis Church, Louisdale, with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial will follow in St Louis Parish Cemetery in Louisdale. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
