Condolences
Mary and I became pen friends in 1964 when we lived in Hudson Hope, northen B,C. My husband Jon had gone to work on the Bennett Dam. Mary must have had her request for pen friends in the Winnipeg Free Press or some similiar paper. We enjoyed our writing. Then in 1968, New Years Day, we arrived in Port Hawksbury for Jon to work on the heavy water plant..It was hard to believe that now I could meet my friend Mary!...and meet we did. Firstly she came to our door...how wonderful. Weeks later I drove out to the Cove and met her Mum and Dad,had wonderful tea and a walk around the place. Visited Gran and Gramp graves.I have many memories. I was able to visit there on more occassions. We moved away 2 years later but were always in touch. Mary and Dennis had two vacations to the west coast and we were able to be together in Vancouver and White Rock. (She had an uncle there.) Aftrer that we went twice to C.B. and visited them. I had a nice letter at Christmas from her. I shall miss her terribly. She worked so hard in that little house with no water. She was a gem.
I know, few if any, will remember me but I know many of you through letters from Mary.
God Bless everyone. Ingrid vanTamelen, Kamloops, B.C.
Deepest sympathy to Mary Elizabeth's family and friends from McCullough clan in Ireland. Loved her wonderful letters. May she rest in peace.
My condolences to Mary's family & friends, I had the pleasure of working with Mary a long time ago and she was a very pleasant lady...rest in peace Mary.
Mary loved the Lord, she was a very determined but dedicated lady. I loved to make her smile, which wasn't always easy! I loved the way she reasoned things out....usually in her favour. Dennis loved her and wanted to see her happy, she the same to him, they were a perfect fit for each other. Bill and I used to have some good laughs on our drives to Chuch, the three of them had such a dry humor, I didn't always get the joke. We loved our trips to Port Hawkesbury for the "ginger beef" at China King. Mary made the best carrot cake and carrot salad, I would look forward to our Church fellowships as we always requested both. Mary loved to read, she would tell me on Sunday mornings how many books she had read the previous week, she would so often pass her treasures onto to me, I have a library full of books given to me by Mary. I am thankful for the many years of fellowship we shared, she was a caring, trusting and loving friend. She will be missed by many, especially those of us who call "Arichat Bible Church" home. I look forward to seeing her again in Glory.
Very Sorry to hear of Mary Elizabeth's passing. Heartfelt Sympathy to her family and friends!
My dear Mary, you were definitely a rock for me at church and whenever I questioned anything. You are now HOME with our Creator and Saviour. We will all miss you dearly but 2 Corinthians 5:8 tells us "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." All our Love, Earlene and family
Mary was a very special women. Rest In Pease.
Mary and Denise believed God. John 3.16. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Praise God for for His unspeakable gifts. God has promised us, who have trusted in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, that to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. Mary you were so faithful to the Lord. When I first attended Arichat Bible church ,you were there, and every time I would come to visit, you and Denise were always there in the front row. We are happy that we did see you at the Christmas Eve service, and we look forward to the day we see you again, when we will all be with our lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
To Mary's family & Friends, our heartfelt condolences. Our Thoughts & Prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. God Bless!
