Dear Jean, Stan, Angela and Family, I am so sorry for your loss and know you are going through a hard time. I love the pictures on this website as it brings me back when he was a part of my life. Hugs to you all, Love Lori
My first memory of Gerard was in the early 1960s when my dad and mom, Harold and Pat Boudreau hosted a weekend house party. There were many there including the late Joe (Peck) Boudreau and his wife Claire as well as the late Doug and Eddie Morash of the Halifax area. Well Gerard had his guitar and performed many of his favorite Merle Haggard songs to the appreciation of a group who were singing along and hollering.
At a later date when I was home for the summer from university in 1968, I had a chance to do some work at the old liquor store, then managed by Mort McGrath and staffed with Charlie Donahue and Gerard.Charlie and I were unloading an eighteen wheeler with cases of beer coming down the rollers to the basement at which point I would toss them several feet to Charlie. We did this for several hours and handled several hundred cases without dropping any or breaking a single bottle.Well Gerard, who kept count while Mort worked the customers upstairs, was pround of this as he stated tha we had set a record that day that was never broken.
I later years I remember him with Jean and guests proudly cruising Arichat Harbour in his small engine powered boat with side trips to his favorite spot, "the Island".
Finally I remember him waving to me from by the lower and later, the uper street house as I did my long distance training during my peak years as a running competitor. I kew he wanted me to do well.
Thanks Gerard for these great memories.
With deep regrets we send our condolences to the family you are in our thoughts and prayers he will be missed by many, RIP Gerard
