Obituary of Mary Edith Burton

BURTON, Mary Edith, 84, of New Glasgow, formerly of Arichat passed away peacefully on July 3, 2017 at the Aberdeen Regional Hospital in New Glasgow. Born April 27, 1933 in Janvrin's Harbour, she was the daughter of the late William and Eva Mae (LeBlanc) Fougere. Edith was a member of Our Lady of Assumption C.W.L. and also a member of the New Horizons Seniors Club in Arichat. She will be missed by her daughters Shirley Landry (John), Darlene Fraser (Donnie), both of Pictou; sons, Russell, Billy (Patsy), Preston (Lori), and Brian (Sara) all of Pictou, Garfield, (Kathy), Sussex, NB; fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; step-children, Carl Burton Jr. (Donna), Linwood, Joan Richards (Eldred), Pleasantville, Larry Burton (Janice), Auld's Cove. brother, Freddie (Carol), Janvrin's Harbour; sisters, Thelma Manson (Bruce), Halifax and Theresa Hill, Janvrin's Harbour. She was predeceased by her husband Carl Arthur; daughter, Jean Doiron; great grandchild Skyler, sisters, Evelyn, Edna, Mabel, Margaret, and Jean; brothers, Herman. Charlie, Ernest and Eldred. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation per request. Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat on Friday, July 7th at 1pm with Father Antolin Asur officiating. Burial to take place in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Cemetery, Arichat. A reception will follow the committal in Our Lady of Assumption Parish Hall.
