Obituary of George Raymond Boudreau

Boudreau, George Raymond, 87 - Halifax, formerly of Petit De Grat, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2009 at Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Halifax. Born in Petit De Grat, he was the son of the late Harry T. and Florence (Samson) Boudreau. A proud veteran of WW 2, George served under General Montgomery with the 1st Division of the 1st Army Brigade of the Ontario Tank Regiment and saw action in Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He was a Life Time Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 47, St. Peter's. He is survived by his children, Father George Boudreau, O.P., St. Louis, Missouri, Brenda (Arthur) Pickup, Halifax, Jack (Madeline) Boudreau, Port Hawkesbury and Gerard (Connie) Boudreau, Dartmouth; brother Cyril (Pauline) Boudreau, Petit De Grat; grandchildren, Brendan, Kyle, Denny, Scott, Julie and Michael; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Kelsey and Hunter. He was predeceased by his wife, Zita Mary (Boudreau) Boudreau; daughter Diane Jeffrey; son in infancy; brother Nectaire; sisters Viola Shaw and Leona Jabalee. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, September 3rd, from 7 - 9 pm in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday morning at 11 am in St. Joseph's Church, Petit De Grat, with Rev. Angus MacDougall officiating. Burial will follow in the Star of the Sea Cemetery, Petit De Grat. The family would like to thank the staff at Camp Hill 4-West and especially Dr. Gus Grant for the compassion and excellent care given to Dad the last years of his life.
