Obituary of Mathilda Mary Fougere

Fougère, Mathilda_ 95, Arichat, formerly from Petit De Grat, passed away in her home, at St. Anne Community and Nursing Care Centre on Wednesday February 3, 2010. Born in Petit De Grat, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Alexina (Marchand) Fougère. She was the last surviving member of her family, having been predeceased by sisters Mary, Martha, Evelyn and Clara and by brothers Godfrey, Leo, Simon and Francis. She is survived by her brother-in-law Tom (late Clara) Robson ,Essex Ontario and sister-in-law, Anne(late Simon) Fougère, Dartmouth. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was a care giver all her adult life, having cared for her sister Evelyn for more than half a century. In her new home in Arichat, she continued to look after the needs and cared for her fellow residents. She will long be remembered by those she touched in this new setting. Mathilda was a devout catholic who had tremendous faith in her Bonne Sainte Anne. The family wishes to thank doctors and all staff of the St. Anne Community and Nursing Care Centre for the excellent care given to our aunt Mathilde. Visitation will be held on Friday February 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the C.H.Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat. Funeral mass will be celebrated by Most reverend Vernon Fougère, Saturday, February 6 at 11 :00 in Saint Joseph Parish church Petit De Grat. Internment in the Saint Joseph parish cemetery Petit De Grat. Donations may be made to St. Anne Community and Nursing Care Centre or the Star of the Sea Cemetery Fund.
