It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Wilfred Joseph Lavandier - 63, of West Arichat, that occurred in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston on March 4, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Arichat, he was the son of the late Amedee Wilfred and Clara (Babin) Lavandier. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Delores Marie (Boudreau) Lavandier; daughters, Clara Delores Lavandier (Robert Bedard), Quebec, Nicole Marie Marchand (Rodney), Halifax, Rhea Mary Lavandier (Corey David), Alderney Point; son, René Wilfred (Amanda) Arichat; grandchildren, Nolan, Martin, Max, Sophie, Avery, and Alexis; sisters, Claire Samson (Eugene), Petit De Grat, Irene Terrio (David), Port Colbourne, Ontario; brothes, Leonard (Evangeline), Albert (Betty), both of West Arichat, Ben (Viola), Edmunston, N.B. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 3 - 9 pm in C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat. Funeral Mass will be held Friday morning March 11, 2011 at 11am in the Immaculate Conception Church, West Arichat with Rev Duaine Devereaux officiating. Burial at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Hospital Palliative Care Society or to St. Anne Community & Nursing Care Centre.
