I had the honour of teaching Jake at Richmond Academy. I remember him as a kind, gentle person who would always lend a helping hand. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and the community for the loss of a fine young man.

I am heartbroken to hear of Jake’s passing. We attended NSCC together and became great buddies. He surprised me by attending my graduation in 2008. He was one of the kindest, gentlest men I know. One of a kind for sure.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Hold tight to the many great memories you have. Hugs.

I was one of Jake's teachers at NSCC (Port Hawkesbury). Jake was one of my favorite students, always with a smile, always to give any challenge his best shot, always friendly, always a good listener and equally one with his own opinions.

I can add many things about Jake but most of all, his presence at the college made it a better place.
