It is hard to know what to say to comfort someone. There really are no words that seem enough for a loss such as this. Hubert would often attend our D’Escousse Civic Improvement monthly breakfast and it was not hard to tell when Hubert entered the hall. Always a smile. It is so hard to find the words to express how broken our hearts are for all of you at this sad time of your lives. Hubert was indeed an Angel on this earth to many, many people. His kindness, generosity, concern and love for life and for His Precious Family will always be his legacy. Fr. Doug said it well when we buried Deanna. He said that she would always Love Her Children even though she wasn't here with them. I believe in my heart that our loved ones walk with us daily because if they didn't we would never survive the grief and emptiness that we feel so strongly.

To Betty and all the David Family, I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Hubert’s sudden passing. Hubert was always so helpful and accommodating to Omer and me over the years when he and his crew were doing any work for us. I know that in the past Omer had enjoyed many card games playing for ducks, rabbits or pounds of scallops over at Hubert’s place! Just this past summer Hubert took time out of his own “vacation” to take me and my friend, Tracy, who was down visiting from Ottawa, out on the water aboard his beloved “Peace N Quiet” to go mackerel jigging! We spent three hours enjoying the water off of Gros Nez in the warm August sunshine and were able to catch our own supper! My friend, Tracy, and I were so appreciative that Hubert would go out of his way for us. He even took us on his 4-wheeler the next day to a back beach below Cap Rouge so that Tracy could collect some beach rocks! We told him that we didn’t want to inconvenience him, but he insisted it was “No problem!”, as he smiled from ear to ear! No doubt there are many, many similar stories and recollections from other people as well who were touched by Hubert’s kindness and generosity! Please accept my sincere condolences on your enormous loss. Your family, and the community, have lost a caring, kind, and generous soul. Take good care. RIP Hubert

Our newest friend, our “no problem, I can build it for you if that (anything) is what you want” attitude, his love for you Betty, your daughters, your grandchildren and sons in law, his generosity beyond measure, his unbelievable skills, stories of childhood, his mom’s teachings, his love of work, fishing and life, just to name a few.
