Obituary of Hubert Anthony David

Please share a memory of Hubert Anthony to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with broken hearts, that we, the family of Hubert Anthony David, are announcing his sudden passing on November 23rd, 2021 at his home in Alderney Point. Born in Arichat on September 18th, 1953, he was the son of the late Arthur James and Agnes Amelia (Landry) David. Hubert was always the first one to jump up when someone needed something. He loved going out on his "Peace N Quiet" with many family members, friends and strangers who shortly became friends. His cell phone rang off the hook but he was always happy to answer. Hubert, Betty and Elmer took a chance and started H.B. & J Contractors in 1986. He worked hard and it shows! He was so proud when his two "acquired" sons joined the company. Hubert's lifelong friend Elmer, Ryan and Justin will carry on his company's legacy. Hubert and Betty spent many evenings together playing cards, watching Christmas movies, and recently driving around on the trike. Their love was strong through the ups and downs and created a beautiful legacy of what love means. When one of his daughters went somewhere with him, they always planned to be away for hours! Even for a minute drive because he always found someone to talk to. It was always an adventure! Hubert's pride and joy were Reese and Jayna. He loved spending every minute he could with Reese and Jayna. Hubert was always happiest spending time with his family. The best and most memorable trip was to Disney World in 2019. He always said that trip was a trip of a lifetime! Describing the person he was in a paragraph is just not enough. Hubert will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 44 years, Betty David, Alderney Point; daughters, Julia David (Justin McCallion), D’ Escousse, Jillian Richard (Ryan), Petit de Grat; his most cherished and loved grandchildren, Reese and Jayna; brothers, Randy, Arichat, Cecil (Jean), Huntley (Pat), both of Petit de Grat; sisters, Wanda (Kenny) MacDonald, Petit de Grat, Monica (Bobby) Duffney, Claire (Benedict) Clannon, both of Arichat, Noreen (Charles) Paupin, Nancy (Jullian) Richer, both of West Arichat, Judy (Gary) Oake, Eastern Passage, Donalda (Rene) LeBlanc, Sackville. Besides his parents, Hubert was predeceased by his brother Blaise. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held in C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home, Arichat on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Funeral mass to celebrate the life of Hubert will be held on Monday in St. Joseph’s Church in Petit de Grat at 11 am with Rev. John DeCoste officiating. Burial to follow in the Star of the Sea Cemetery, Petit de Grat. Following the burial, there will be a reception at La Picasse in Petit de Grat. In compliance with Nova Scotia’s COVID-19 public health regulations, proof of double vaccination and a picture ID must be shown to attend the visitation and funeral. Memorial donations can be made to the Hearts of Isle Madame. To send words of comfort to the family in memory of Hubert, please visit www.chboudreau.com
