Condolences
In the 1970s Chuck was my mentor as a young hockey referee. He taught me discipline and competency and led by example. I remember the little things like how hard he would skate to get a puck after a whistle. How we needed to present ourselves and look professional - clean jerseys, polished skates. How to blow our whistles with authority if we wanted to command respect. When you made a call, you made it with confidence, no hesitation.
I went on to referee hockey right up to the university level and always knew that the lessons I learned from Chuck were the ones that had made the most impact. And not just in refereeing, I might add. He was an inspiration in focus, goal setting, commitment, hard work and much more, and made quite an impact on a kid at the time.
I haven’t seen Chuck in decades, but I feel fortunate to have seen his obituary and to share the impact he had on my life with his friends and family. Thank you, he was quite a man.

I would like to offer my condolences to Chuck`s family . I was very saddened to hear of his death .
Chuck and I served together in the Air Force - Stationed in #1 Fighter Wing Marville , France , CFB Cold Lake , Alberta and CFB Shearwater. In Cold Lake Chuck and family lived on the same street in Married Quarters [ Beaver Crescent ] . I went out to watch him and his son run a marathon from Cold Lake / Grand Centre to Bonnyville and back . He was a great outdoorsman - anything you needed to know about the best place to fish or hunt -- check with Chuck for the best info .
We were in Shearwater at the same time -- Chuck had renovated a school bus to move his family as the travelled from Alberta to Shearwater In Nova Scotia and we moved there shortly after .I also remember selling Chuck one of my rifles [ a 30/30 Winchester ]
He will certainly be missed . Rest in Peace my good man !

My heartfelt sympathy to Chuck's family. He was very much a part of my heart. I think of him often. In the mornings I would ask him how he was feeling and he'd say with my hands. He always had something witty to come back with. He will be missed.
Condolences to all of Chuck’s family & extended families. Chuck was a very active member of our parish community for years. Sitting on parish council and doing an amazing job in shining our silver and brass on the altar amongst many other volunteer positions giving from the heart. We are forever grateful. May he now Rest In Peace!
